Lars Pederson Valheim (Lewis Vallem) burial

The son-in-law of Ole Olson Søndenå and Mari Iversdatter Nordskår, Lars Pederson Valheim (Lewis Vallem) died February 27, 1889.   Lars was buried at the  Årdal gamle kirke (Årdal old church) in Årdal, Hjelmeland municipality, Rogaland county, Norway on March 6, 1889. Here is his burial record from the Årdal local parish.   The entry for Lars is the second listing. Årdal parish burial record Lewis Vallem was interred March 31, 1889. Lars Pederson Valheim burial plot The fence surrounding the burial site is no longer there and the monument has been damaged.   The inlay inscription has been broken into several pieces. Årdal gamle kirke (Årdal old church)

The Årdal gamle kirke  (Årdal old church) is located east of the Nordskår farm.   The son-in-law of Ole Olson Søndenå and Mari Iversdatter Nordskår,  Lars Pederson Valheim (Americanized to Vallem) was laid to rest at this wooden church which dates back to 1619, one year before the Pilgrims landed at Provincetown, Massachusetts.
